Release notes

What shipped in each version of the extension and this site.

v1.4.5

  • Redesigned the keyboard shortcut editor in Settings — click a shortcut and press the keys to record it, and it saves reliably when you click away.
  • Clearing a shortcut with Backspace now restores its default when you leave the field, and a per-row reset plus conflict warnings make rebinding safer.
  • Added a "Pass all steps" action in both the execution runner and the floating companion so you can mark a whole test case passed in one click.
  • Rebuilt the PDF report so it fits the page properly — no more content cut off at the right edge, and steps are never split across a page break.
  • The report preview now renders at document width so it matches the printed PDF, with cleaner spacing and aligned Action / Expected rows.
  • PDF reports now generate and download much faster, and only include the screenshots actually linked to a test case or step (no more unlinked captures padding out the report).
  • Redesigned the floating companion: the user story picker sits back in the compact header and the test case is a clear labelled dropdown, so the top stays small and it is easy to see and switch what you are running.
  • The companion story picker now shows a passed / failed count for each user story, so you can see suite progress at a glance without opening it.
  • The execution runner and companion now respect the active sprint, project, and environment scope from the top bar — the story picker only lists suites in scope, with a scope banner to adjust or clear it, so you always run the right sprint’s tests.
  • The Tasks month calendar is now a single scrollable date strip — page a week at a time with the arrows and jump whole months with the double arrows.

v1.4.0

  • Right-click a task card for quick Edit, Mark done/not done, and Delete actions.
  • Import page now shows a single sample download button that matches the layout tab you are on (Column layout or Stacked blocks).
  • Removed the go-live milestone banner and dialog to keep the Tasks page focused on your day-to-day to-do list.
  • Screenshots can now be linked to any test case and step from the gallery, and re-linked or unlinked without opening the runner.
  • Each screenshot has a copy button that copies the image to your clipboard so you can paste it into a ticket, chat, or doc.
  • Tasks are a calendar-style to-do list: pick a day to see that day’s To do and Done items, each with a priority colour, optional time, and a round complete button.
  • Add a task to the selected day with the floating + button, set a time of day, and swipe a card to delete it.
  • Alt+S now captures a screenshot and shows the preview on any web page, even when the side panel is closed and the companion launcher is turned off.
  • Nine new capability pages cover every feature in the extension: Dashboard, Workspace & projects, Test case management, Tags, Kanban board, Repros, Run history, Screenshot annotator, Companion overlay, and Settings.
  • Existing capability pages (Screenshot capture, Excel & CSV import, Execution runner, Reports, Defect tracking, Task tracking) now include Use cases, Tips, and Related links sections.
  • Footer Capabilities column lists every feature page; sitemap and metadata updated so search engines can discover them.
  • New shared CapabilityPageContent layout standardizes the structure across all capability pages (hero, how-to, use cases, tips, asides, related).

v1.3.3

  • Guides now show a table of contents, last-updated date, and reading-time estimate at the top.
  • New in-article primitives: tips, warnings, and notes callouts; quality checklists; comparison cards for side-by-side trade-offs.
  • Severity vs Priority guide expanded with a 4×4 triage matrix and a who-sets-what comparison.
  • Defect Life Cycle guide adds deep-link anchors for each status and a pre-close verification checklist.
  • Article structured data now includes a Person author, dateModified, and mainEntityOfPage for stronger E-E-A-T.
  • Guides listing cards show the last-updated date so the cluster looks fresh.

v1.3.2

  • All three blog posts expanded with key takeaways, flow diagrams, comparison tables, and worked examples.
  • Each blog post has its own FAQ section with structured data for search.
  • Blog pages consolidated into one route and emit BlogPosting, breadcrumb, FAQ, and product schema.

v1.3.1

  • Homepage, FAQ, and about pages updated with QA Workspace brand wording so searches for the product name surface the official site.
  • Organization, WebSite, and SoftwareApplication structured data added on the homepage with brand alternate names.
  • Site-wide meta keywords, application name, robots directives, and web manifest added for stronger brand recognition.

v1.3.0

  • All six QA guides expanded with key takeaways, comparison tables, and worked examples (login test case, bug report sample, defect walkthrough).
  • Defect life cycle guide includes a flow diagram and status table covering reopened vs deferred.
  • Each guide has its own FAQ section with structured data for search.
  • Guide pages emit breadcrumb, article, how-to, FAQ, and product schema for richer search results.

v1.2.0

  • Marketing site grew from 20 to 38 indexable pages: guides, templates, blog, pricing, and about.
  • Six QA guides (manual testing, test cases, defects, severity vs priority, and how-to articles) with internal links to product features.
  • Four free templates to download: test cases (Excel and CSV), bug reports, test plans, and summary reports. Test case columns match the importer.
  • Task tracking capability page with screenshot, plus footer and features links.
  • Privacy Policy and Terms of Service rewritten in a Google-style legal format with a contents table, permission justifications, and Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure.
  • Legal, guide, and resource pages use wider centered layouts so content matches the rest of the site.
  • Guides and Blog in the top nav. Templates, pricing, and about linked from the footer. Changelog moved to footer only.
  • Site navigation keeps header and footer in place across routes without a full-page reload.
  • Chrome Web Store package built as v1.2.0 (manifest and in-app version badge).
  • Google Analytics added to the marketing site. Privacy Policy, Terms, and privacy promise updated to describe website measurement separately from the extension.

v1.1.0

  • Every step in the runner shows Pass, Fail, Block, Skip, and Defect. You don't have to hunt for the action bar.
  • Export a run from the menu (⋮) and switch to another story without leaving execution.
  • Tasks page: set milestones, see go-live reminders, get retest prompts, and check today's work from the dashboard.
  • Preview a defect before you save it, and export a standalone defect report.
  • Single-test exports (HTML, PDF, Word) match the on-screen preview. PDFs are generated from that preview.
  • Long test titles wrap in PDF exports. Step and screenshot timestamps were removed to keep reports easier to read.
  • Downloads use the same filename pattern everywhere: report type plus date (runs, stories, defects, backups).
  • After import, the extension picks an active test case so screenshots attach to the right place.
  • Screenshot linking works across all suites, not only the active one. The companion attaches to the first open step when none is selected.
  • Website refresh with light and dark theme, plus new capability and how-to pages.
  • Site navigation no longer reloads the full page. The header and footer stay in place as you browse.

v1.0.0

  • First public release on the Chrome Web Store.
  • Side panel workspace: dashboard, import, test cases, and a step-by-step runner.
  • Screenshot capture, defect tracking, and PDF, Excel, and CSV reports.
  • Offline-first: your data stays on your machine. No telemetry.
  • Mobile-friendly layout and a companion overlay for capture.
